Uganda is located in Africa’s Great Lakes region and the Nile Basin. The country is well known for the populations of Mountain Gorillas that call Uganda’s lush tropical forests home. One of the country’s famous landmarks is certainly Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which boasts with over 300 Mountain Gorillas. That is half of the world’s Mountain Gorillas! Although gorillas are Uganda’s key tourist attraction, the country also offers other spectacular wildlife experience, including the phenomenal and famous tree climbing lions of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Uganda is also famous for its white water rafting on the Nile, boating along its great rivers or on Lake Victoria and sport fishing.
It is a land with a leg on each side of the equator, where the East African savannah meets the West African jungle. As the geographical heart of Africa, the country is rich in culture, arts and people and home to over 30 different indigenous languages.
